Position Overview
The Traffic Officer role involves executing various traffic enforcement duties including patrolling municipal roads, identifying traffic violations, managing traffic at accident scenes, and conducting educational campaigns. This role is essential for reducing road accidents, promoting safety awareness, and maintaining orderly traffic conditions across the Emalahleni jurisdiction.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this post, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)

NQF Level 5 Certificate in Basic Traffic Training

Valid Code EB Driver’s License
-
Firearm Proficiency Certificate
-
No criminal record
-
2 to 5 years’ relevant working experience
Candidates who do not meet all minimum qualifications will not be shortlisted. Preference will be given to residents of the Emalahleni municipal area.
Key Responsibilities
-
Monitor traffic flow and enforce traffic regulations on municipal roads

Patrol designated areas to identify illegal parking, road obstructions, and unsafe driving
-
Issue traffic fines and attend to law enforcement procedures

Report violations that cannot be enforced on-site

Conduct road safety campaigns and public education initiatives

Control traffic during special events, emergencies, and accident scenes

Investigate traffic-related incidents and submit reports

Ensure compliance with road and vehicle safety standards
