Role Overview

FNB is currently looking for a qualified and experienced Security Guard to join its security operations team based in Randburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on all security-related matters, assisting in the screening and supervision of guards, and ensuring round-the-clock protection of property, personnel, and infrastructure.

This is a highly responsible role that requires a detail-oriented, alert, and trustworthy individual who is passionate about safety and security. You will play a critical part in safeguarding FNB’s assets and maintaining the trust of its clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate CCTV systems, alarm panels, and access control mechanisms

  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections to ensure safety across all premises

  • Respond to and investigate security warnings, alarms, and emergency alerts

  • Assist in screening security candidates and training new personnel

  • Support and coordinate the daily functions of junior and senior security personnel

  • Issue patrol keys, two-way radios, and other security equipment to team members

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date occurrence books and security registers

  • Escort contractors, staff, and visitors across sensitive areas when required

  • Manage and control task assignments for all designated security posts

  • Ensure compliance with security policies, safety procedures, and risk mitigation standards

  • Report all incidents, unusual observations, and system faults to relevant departments

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • PSIRA Grade C Certification – this is non-negotiable

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar security role, preferably within the corporate or financial services industry

  • Knowledge of Ziton fire panels and alarm monitoring systems

  • Experience in monitoring gas and fire detection systems is highly advantageous

  • Strong ability to perform under pressure and act decisively in emergencies
