Role Overview
The Banking Advisor – Academy role is a developmental opportunity within FNB’s Private Banking & Advisory Division. This is an ideal launchpad for high-potential financial professionals who want to build a long-term career in private and affluent banking. The position includes a structured 3 to 6-month incubation training program, designed to equip you with the necessary technical and soft skills required for success in the financial advisory space.
The successful candidate will work closely with Private Bankers to support client acquisition, service delivery, and business development initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include market research, financial analysis, managing a portfolio of affluent clients, and ensuring a consistent standard of service excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing a high-value client portfolio in collaboration with Private Bankers

Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new clients and grow existing relationships

Conduct market analysis and research to support financial solutions

Promote FNB’s range of banking and financial services to existing and prospective clients

Build and nurture trust-based relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Contribute to pipeline development through effective lead generation and tracking

Deliver high-quality outputs that align with service-level expectations and deadlines

Foster a culture of proactive service and innovation

Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance protocols

Continuously upskill through participation in structured training and mentorship initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Accounting, or related FSCA-approved fields

RE5 Certificate (Regulatory Examination for Representatives)

2 to 3 years of experience in a financial services environment, with a focus on Sales or Client Service

Preference will be given to candidates with previous Banking experience

Candidates must not be unrehabilitated insolvents

A clean credit record check is mandatory in line with the National Credit Act (NCA)
