Role Overview
The Batch Release Pharmacist Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring that Nurture Brands meets its quality assurance standards. This position involves overseeing batch release documentation, performing quality checks, and ensuring regulatory compliance for both bulk and packaged products. You will assist in the verification of documentation and the maintenance of retention rooms, all while working in a GMP-compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Batch Release & Documentation

Assist in performing bulk product quality checks and report discrepancies as needed

Ensure the timely release of bulk and packaged stock to meet production deadlines

Review batch documents under supervision to verify regulatory compliance

Compile and verify release documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness

Notify management of any release delays and work to resolve issues quickly

Confirm completion of deviations, out-of-specifications (OOS), and specifications compliance

Maintain accurate retention rooms and batch record files, ensuring they are well-organized and accessible

Verify the accuracy of lab reports and ensure their inclusion in the release documentation

Inspect retention samples for quality and ensure compliance with all standards

Report non-conformances to the pharmacist and help coordinate corrective actions

Assist in SOP reviews and updates, ensuring processes remain current with industry standards
Inspections & Audits

Conduct AQL checks (Acceptable Quality Level checks) and update registers accordingly

Inspect retention rooms and restroom lockers, ensuring they comply with GMP standards

Provide support for internal and external audits, including document retrieval and close-out of audit findings
Customer Complaints & GMP

Assist in investigating customer complaints related to quality and document handling

Monitor GMP compliance by conducting locker inspections and supporting overall quality assurance initiatives
Required Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
-
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) knowledge is essential

Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification required

Secretarial qualification is advantageous

1 year of experience in quality assurance
-
2 years of experience in quality assurance within the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous

Proficiency in computer literacy, especially in document management systems and spreadsheets
