As a Casual Cashier, your duties will include ensuring smooth operations at the point of sale while maintaining the highest level of customer service:

Process customer transactions using Dis-Chem’s operating system

Receive and process payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons)

Maintain the accuracy of cash flow and ensure the proper handling of all transactions

Exchange merchandise and accept returned goods when authorized

Enforce security measures to ensure no risk to colleagues or customers

Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures

Provide friendly customer service and assist with any queries

Report customer feedback to management, including complaints and compliments

🧠 Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must meet the following essential criteria:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate

Minimum of 6 months of cashier/till operations experience

Computer literacy (MS Office)

Strong numerical skills
-
Fluent in English (both written and verbal)

Willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
🚀 Preferred (Advantageous) Skills

Bilingual (additional languages would be an advantage)

Ability to process sales, refunds, and payments accurately

Previous experience with cash registers and cash drawers

Knowledge of customer service practices

Attention to detail and ability to handle cash securely
