✅ Key Responsibilities
As a Casual Merchandiser at Dis-Chem, you will have a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining high merchandising standards and providing excellent customer service, including:

Restocking merchandise to ensure maximum sales potential

Ensuring stock is correctly stored and organized in the storeroom

Performing stock rotation on a FIFO (First In, First Out) basis
-
Reporting low stock levels, out-of-stock items, and damaged or expired stock to management

Helping with general stocktaking and assisting in inventory management
-
Ensuring product displays are neat, well-stocked, and visible to customers
-
Ensuring correct labels and pricing on all merchandise

Providing friendly, helpful, and courteous customer service

Assisting in the training of new staff

Maintaining health and safety standards within the store

🧠 Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate
-
Up to 6 months of retail experience
-
Computer literate (MS Office)
-
Willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
🚀 Preferred (Advantageous) Skills
-
1 year of retail experience
-
Bilingual (especially in languages relevant to the area)

Familiarity with merchandising standards in the FMCG industry

Knowledge of ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking
-
Ability to engage customers effectively and maintain high service levels

Able to work physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving heavy boxes

Must have reliable transport and reside near Eastgate

Must be a South African citizen with clear criminal and credit records
