Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Nursing Services Manager to join our dynamic leadership team. Reporting directly to the Hospital Manager, the Nursing Services Manager will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational leadership for all nursing services. The primary goal is to ensure the highest quality of patient care through effective coordination of the multidisciplinary clinical team, efficient resource utilization, and a strong focus on compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
The Nursing Services Manager will oversee the daily operations of nursing departments while ensuring best practices and clinical excellence. Key duties include:

Clinical Leadership: Drive all nursing services and clinical care activities in alignment with healthcare regulations, internal policies, and professional protocols.

Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive nursing care strategy that promotes adherence to clinical and safety standards.

Risk Management: Identify and address clinical care risks through collaboration with Unit Managers, ensuring a proactive approach to patient safety.

Quality Assurance: Promote continuous improvement of care through the implementation and review of quality metrics, audits, and quality assurance systems.

Team Leadership: Manage and develop nursing teams by fostering a supportive work environment, encouraging teamwork, and ensuring adequate staffing levels.

Budget Oversight: Manage the nursing budget efficiently to ensure the provision of high-quality care in a cost-effective manner, aligned with operational goals.

Governance & Compliance: Ensure robust governance structures, transparency in operations, and full compliance with national health standards and labour legislation.

Training & Development: Promote ongoing professional development through CPD (Continuing Professional Development) initiatives and training to bridge critical skills gaps.

Community Engagement: Participate in marketing and community health initiatives that enhance the visibility and reputation of the nursing profession and hospital.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Educational Background:

BCur Degree or equivalent Nursing Diploma
-
Additional qualification in Nursing Management (Degree/Diploma)

A post-basic clinical specialist qualification is an advantage

Professional Registration:

Must be currently registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of proven management and leadership experience in a medium-sized private healthcare facility

Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of labour legislation and healthcare compliance

Commercial orientation and understanding of healthcare business principles

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospital management systems
