Role Overview
Tiger Brands is seeking a Logistics Controller to manage outbound and inbound logistics operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining effective stock management processes. You will coordinate the loading of vehicles, manage stock accuracy, oversee expenses, and ensure that all safety and hygiene standards are adhered to. This role is vital to ensuring smooth logistics operations and the integrity of stock throughout the supply chain process.
Key Responsibilities
As a Logistics Controller, your duties will include:
Outbound Logistics:

Supervise and coordinate vehicle loading to meet delivery requirements.

Review the Open Orders Book daily and liaise with the LCT Planner on the next day’s plan.

Ensure FIFO principles are followed to prevent product write-offs.
-
Ensure customers collecting goods follow the Collection SOP.
Inbound Logistics:
-
Inspect inbound stock for visible damage, expiry dates, and condition.
-
Ensure correct receipt and good receipt processing on Oracle within 3 working days.
-
Run and clear inbound transit reports in a timely manner.
Expenses Management:
-
Ensure logistics expenses are within the budget.
-
Oversee outsourced 3PL service providers and ensure timely processing of purchase orders and receipts.

Manage overtime and staff effectively.
Inventory Management:

Ensure stock counts are accurate to 99.5% and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stocktaking in accordance with SOPs.

Ensure all stock movements are processed on time to avoid losses, and that FIFO is maintained.

Conduct daily stock reconciliations and manage inventory discrepancies.
Compliance:

Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene programs.

Comply with safety rules and legal requirements at all times.

Assist in the development and training of all employees within the distribution department.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:

Academic Qualifications:
-
A Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
-
Proficiency in Computer Literacy, strong analytical skills, and a flair for figures

Key Professional Competencies:

Knowledge of Supply Chain KPIs, Logistics Administration, and FMCG requirements

Understanding of Food Safety and HACCP requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

High level of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning

Experience:

3+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse stock management, preferably in the FMCG and food manufacturing industry

Experience in retail and wholesale customer service
