Purpose of the Job:

To implement and maintain occupational hygiene programmes to ensure the health and safety of employees while maintaining the ISO 17020 system for legal compliance.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• NQF Level 6 qualification in Occupational Hygiene (essential).
• NQF Level 7 qualification in Occupational Hygiene (advantageous).
• SAIOH Technologist registration with Occupational Legal Knowledge certification (essential).
• 3–5 years of post-qualification experience with SANAS / ISO 17020 management system.
• Knowledge of OHS Act, SANAS / ISO 17020, and sampling methodology.
• Computer literacy, system management, and report writing skills.
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Medically fit for both BMR and PMR environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor, measure, and report on occupational hygiene stress factors and environmental conditions.
• Conduct occupational hygiene testing, inspections, and audits to identify hazards and risks.
• Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure ventilation systems are continuously monitored and evaluated.
• Manage personal sampling programmes in compliance with legal and company standards.
• Implement control measures and oversee contractors when necessary.
• Maintain SANAS / ISO 17020 management systems and ensure budget compliance.
• Provide occupational hygiene guidance and pregnancy assessments as per company policy.
