Purpose of the Job
Impala Bafokeng is seeking an Auto Electrician UG to conduct maintenance and emergency repairs on trackless mobile machinery in an underground mining environment.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) (Essential)
- Trade Qualification: Recognized relevant Trade Qualification (Section 13) OR
- Proof of recognized completed apprenticeship contract AND
- NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as an Auto Electrician (Essential)
- Medical Fitness: Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one
Competencies
- Ability to build basic auto electrical circuits
- Knowledge of TMM (Trackless Mobile Machines)
- Understanding and applying electrical & mechanical engineering principles
- Constructing and testing electronic circuits
- Diagnosing and repairing conventional automobile systems
- Understanding safety measures associated with flammable energy sources
- Leading a team, planning work, and conducting on-the-job coaching
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and repair automobile auxiliary harnesses
- Install and wire auxiliary auto-electrical equipment
- Remove and fit automobile mechanical and electrical components
- Service and repair electronic and conventional ignition systems
- Trace and repair faults on advanced auto electrical circuits
- Diagnose, test, and repair conventional automobile systems
- Attend to breakdown callouts
- Supervise and assess team performance
