Job Description
As the Area Manager for Clothing, you will lead a team of store managers across multiple locations, focusing on enhancing store performance, managing human resources, and executing successful promotional campaigns. Your role will involve overseeing key operational functions, ensuring financial stability, and maintaining a high level of store upkeep to guarantee the best customer experience. You’ll align store and department performance with company goals, boosting sales, service, and efficiency across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support store managers and staff across multiple locations.
- Implement strategies to drive business performance and achieve targets.
- Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Analyze performance metrics and develop actionable plans for improvement.
- Oversee staff recruitment and management.
- Manage stocktake planning and processes.
- Handle disciplinary actions and employee relations cases.
- Ensure compliance with admin, trade, and people checks according to business standards.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure that visual merchandise standards are maintained.
- Monitor staff appearance, backup areas, and new product lines.
- Maintain high standards of store and department housekeeping.
- Ensure customer service standards are met.
- Identify staff training needs and provide coaching and development.
- Approve store Kronos schedules and monitor overtime costs.
- Authorize maintenance standards and ensure general store upkeep.
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 (matric) / N3 equivalent / Clothing degree
- 5-8 years of experience as an Area Manager, ideally within the clothing retail sector
- Knowledge of merchandising principles and fashion
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Computer literate
- SAP knowledge is an added advantage (ability to run, analyze, and interpret reports)
