Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Operator (Picking) is responsible for accurate selection, packing, and counting of products based on picking instructions. This role ensures efficient order fulfillment, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols, contributing to smooth warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Picking & Accuracy

  • Select and gather required products based on picking instructions.
  • Pack items securely, ensuring proper labeling and quality standards.
  • Maximize pallet stability for safe transportation.
  • Verify picked items for accuracy and completeness.
  • Indicate out-of-stock or short-picked items.

2. Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Use picking equipment to efficiently navigate the warehouse.
  • Assist the inventory control team in maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Report product discrepancies, damaged goods, or incorrect labeling.

3. Warehouse Organization & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote a safe working environment and comply with all safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role (FMCG retail experience preferred).
License: Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.
Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
