Overview

Glencore is seeking Buyer and Sourcing Specialists to join the procurement team on a 6-month fixed term contract. The successful candidates will focus on sourcing and managing suppliers while ensuring compliance with procurement policies for African sites, specifically in DRC and South Africa.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Supplier Management: Lead sourcing initiatives and negotiate contracts for goods and services, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
• Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure favorable conditions and maintain productive supplier relationships.
• Purchase Order Management: Manage purchase orders in Coupa, ensuring documentation adheres to procurement policies.
• Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
• Supplier Performance & Risk Management: Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and manage risks to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business needs.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements related to the Coupa platform and procurement efficiency.

Qualifications

• Education: CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) certification or equivalent procurement qualification.

Requirements & Competencies

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a Buyer or Sourcing Specialist role, with focus on procurement and supplier management.
• Software: Expertise in Coupa and SAP.
• Procurement Knowledge: Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, and procurement processes.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience: Worked with multi-location organizations in Africa.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Self-management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
