Overview
Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore is seeking an experienced Planner to join our Engineering team at the Postmasburg location. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of maintenance activities by identifying and organizing the required resources ahead of work commencement. You will play a crucial part in driving the safety, efficiency, and performance of our operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Health: Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and others by applying safety standards and guidelines.
- Operational Planning: Translate asset strategies into actionable maintenance plans in SAP, ensuring tasks are detailed and resource requirements are fully met.
- Routine Work Planning (PM03/PM15): Verify and release tactical work orders with precision, ensuring work centers, task details, and resources are accurately defined.
- Work Management: Coordinate and manage change requirements for tactical work orders in collaboration with the Reliability Department.
- Ad-hoc Work Generation (PM01 Orders): Capture and manage ad-hoc notifications, ensuring timely conversion into PM Orders.
- Daily Planning Routine: Review and update work center capacity, create planning job cards, and track daily tasks to ensure successful execution.
- Resource Specification: Identify and plan labour, materials, tools, and equipment for efficient task completion.
- Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs associated with planned work to ensure alignment with business expectations.
- Work Order Closure: Confirm and close work orders in SAP, ensuring accurate tracking of all maintenance work.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12/N3 (Technical Matric).
- N4 Engineering Studies (Advantageous).
- Trade Test Certificate in Engineering discipline.
- SA Driver’s License.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of work management, operational processes, and maintenance strategies.
Experience and Skills:
- Knowledge of work management processes and SAP.
- Ability to apply safety and risk management principles.
- Experience with resource planning and operational cost control.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational performance.
