Job Overview

The Internal Audit Internship provides an opportunity for graduates to gain practical exposure to internal audit services and strengthen the organizational control environment. The intern will be exposed to auditing processes, contributing to internal audit services for the Electoral Commission and assisting in providing valuable insights to improve operational controls. The position reports to the Deputy Manager: Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in internal audit tasks, providing support to the internal audit team in evaluating processes, risk management, and controls.
  • Participate in the planning, conducting, and reporting of audits on various organizational units.
  • Support in monitoring and reviewing the internal control environment to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Document and follow-up on audit findings, assisting with the preparation of audit reports.
  • Offer support in the development of recommendations for improving operational efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a team.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • If in possession of a foreign qualification, provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
