Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Bag, box, or wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure accuracy
- Sort, count, and wrap notes and coins
- Establish prices and tabulate bills using cash registers or scanners
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers as needed
- Maintain balanced records of transactions
- Receive payments via cash or card
- Ensure the checkout area remains clean and organized
- Assist with stocking shelves and pricing items
- Conduct stock takes when required
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- Computer literacy
- Previous experience as a cashier (advantageous)
- Strong numerical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
