Job Overview:
AVBOB is looking to hire a Liaison Officer within their Senior Citizens Department to enhance funeral insurance and funeral business by building relationships with pensioners and other senior citizens in retirement establishments, nursing homes, hospitals, churches, and similar organizations. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing events, marketing AVBOB’s services, collaborating with stakeholders, and handling the administration of new business and policy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Organization:
- Plan and organize events at senior citizen venues such as retirement homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and associations.
- Define event objectives, determine requirements, and prepare schedules for monthly events and meetings with pensioners and management.
- Ensure events are carried out within the approved budget and provide consolidated feedback to management regarding attendance and services.
- Marketing & Product Promotion:
- Present AVBOB’s services and products to senior citizens and potential clients, ensuring compliance with FAIS regulations.
- Provide professional advice to clients regarding funeral services, policies, and other offerings.
- Follow up on leads for funeral services and other offerings.
- Conduct mass presentations to stakeholders to increase market awareness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Networking:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including retirement institutions, nursing homes, churches, social clubs, and senior citizen organizations.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including Area Managers, Funeral Agents, and Senior Liaison Officers.
- Address complaints and conflicts by investigating issues and providing timely feedback.
- Maintain ongoing contact with institutions to determine their current client base and needs.
- Administration & Reporting:
- Submit monthly event plans to the Area Manager and Senior Liaison Officer.
- Collect, analyze, and use data and feedback to identify opportunities for business improvement.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on executed events, clients served, and new business generated.
- Compile incident reports and provide life files with necessary documentation to clients.
- Adjust policies as required and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Manage the collection of premiums, reconciliation of expenditure, and submission of new policies.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Relevant marketing qualification
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in business development or opening sources.
- Experience and knowledge in the funeral and/or insurance industry or in senior citizen facilities.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and plan events and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of funeral services and insurance products.
- Good administrative and reporting skills, with proficiency in managing business data.
