Position Overview

The Control & Automation Trainee Programme is a 18-month structured training designed for graduates to acquire technical skills and experience in Control & Automation. The program will also introduce them to the company’s culture, values, and processes. On completion, the trainee will be ready to take on responsibility in the company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Learning: Gain full understanding of the theory, principles, and processes in Control & Automation.
  • VPO (Volvo Production System): Apply VPO principles in the daily work process.
  • Team Participation: Act in identified positions, including within Maintenance, Planning Systems, and Control Systems.
  • Project Participation: Complete projects aligned with the program and brewery priorities.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose systemic and situational problems within the control systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Systems Management: Manage and control manufacturing systems infrastructure, databases, and applications to ensure integrity.
  • Optimization: Proactively optimize manufacturing systems to improve quality, efficiency, and functionality.
  • Training & Coaching: Guide and assist with training production employees.
  • Project Management: Develop systems, reports, and manage projects to meet production needs.

Key Attributes & Competencies

  • Knowledge:
    • Systems and object-oriented programming languages
    • SQL databases, process modeling, report development, and conceptual design/automation
    • PLC Programming (Siemens S7)
  • Skills:
    • Sound organizational and facilitation skills
    • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of Change Management
  • Mindset:
    • Analytical and enquiring thinker
    • Self-starter with high energy and bias for action
    • Highly assertive, with a proactive approach to work

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • BSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years relevant experience in a Manufacturing Systems Control and Automation environment.
