Position Overview

The Business Development Manager at the Motus Training Academy (MTA) will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow the business. The role involves new business development, stakeholder management, sales growth, and working closely with the management team to achieve targets. This position requires strong communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development and Sales Growth
    • Develop a plan to grow the business in line with MTA strategy.
    • Create a sales pipeline, set targets, and forecast sales.
    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and potential customers.
    • Generate leads, conduct cold calls, and retain active clients.
    • Offer additional services to clients (e.g., Technical for Non-Technical training, RPL Books).
    • Develop strategies to increase learner numbers from active clients.
  2. Stakeholder Management
    • Manage and retain relationships with existing clients.
    • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
    • Collaborate with Academy and Finance Managers to determine pricing strategies for services.
  3. Promotional Strategy and Market Presence
    • Work with Academy Managers to develop promotional strategies to support MTA sales targets.
    • Attend seminars, conferences, and industry events to expand the MTA presence.
  4. Business Strategy and Reporting
    • Conduct due diligence on new clients and identify their business needs.
    • Regularly update the Management Committee on findings, sales forecasts, and market trends.
    • Ensure that business processes align with industry standards and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 with an equivalent formal qualification.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 4 years in Sales and Apprenticeship Training.
    • Experience working with SETAs.
