About the Role:

The Cook ensures that all ingredients are prepared and organized (“mise en place”) before production, maintains a clean work environment, and contributes to the high standards of food preparation and presentation.


Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Delivery:

  • Prepare and present food adhering to quality and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain correct portion control to meet business guidelines.
  • Deliver food promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Assist in menu planning and stock control as needed.

Hygiene & Standards:

  • Maintain a clean and organized working station.
  • Uphold business standards for hygiene and quality at all times.

Innovation & Flexibility:

  • Stay informed about food trends and best practices.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime when required.

Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on quality and presentation.
  • Customer service orientation.

Qualifications:

  • Matric certificate.
  • 1-2 years of proven cooking experience in a similar role.
  • Culinary qualification is advantageous.
