Role Overview:

Fedics is seeking a Catering Manager to oversee the operational management of a key account. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLA), maintain high standards of food service delivery, manage client relationships, and meet financial and operational targets. This role is critical for driving operational excellence and ensuring site efficiency in alignment with best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Take full accountability for the management of the catering unit.
  • Implement and maintain controls to ensure operational efficiency within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and service, meeting Fedics standards.
  • Conduct daily site visits to ensure adherence to SLA requirements.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff to meet service delivery goals.
  • Handle HR and IR functions, including training, performance management, and development.

Client and Customer Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and customers.
  • Address client needs proactively and manage complaints effectively.

Financial Management:

  • Manage administration, finances, debtors, and budgets.
  • Compile and analyze weekly and monthly profit and loss (P&L) reports.

Event and Function Management:

  • Organize, prepare, and coordinate functions and events as required.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure compliance with all Fedics policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on food trends and industry best practices to drive innovation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Matric and Culinary Tertiary qualifications.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years in a similar managerial role.
    • Experience with accounting systems.
    • Previous exposure to the retirement sector (advantageous).

  • Proficient computer skills.

Work Environment:
