Position Overview

Empact Group seeks an experienced Chef to oversee menu development, recipe creation, and food production in a fast-paced environment. The role includes supervising culinary activities, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the efficient execution of the food production process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and plan menus to meet client and operational needs.
  • Establish and maintain recipes and food purchase specifications.
  • Coordinate, execute, and supervise all food production activities.
  • Evaluate culinary operations to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Assist in the strategic and daily management of operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive kitchen/culinary management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage operations within budget guidelines.

Skills and Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of the catering industry, including fine dining and restaurant operations.
  • Familiarity with South African laws and industry-specific regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen and expertise in budgetary and food control practices.
