Position Overview

Empact Group is seeking a skilled Catering Manager to oversee food service operations at its Food Solutions division. The role involves managing daily kitchen operations, implementing production processes, controlling food and labor costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the assigned unit, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Implement and manage production processes in line with company standards.
  • Control and manage food and labor costs effectively to meet budgetary targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP standards and food safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience.
  • Proven experience working within budget guidelines to achieve results.

Desirable:

  • Experience in high-volume, complex food service operations.

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the catering industry, including fine dining and restaurant operations.
  • Understanding of South African laws and industry-specific regulations.
  • Strong customer service and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and event management abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
