Position Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring a Cosmetic Cashier for its new store in Mthatha. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service at the cosmetic till point while ensuring effective merchandising of beauty products. The successful candidate will deliver a world-class shopping experience and maintain the highest operational and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Prioritize customers at the cosmetic till point for efficient transactions.
- Escalate unresolved customer complaints to the manager.
- Serve customers with a high standard of care and professionalism.
- Answer questions about store beauty merchandise and refer cosmetic sales queries to the Cosmetic Consultant.
Merchandising Duties (when not attending to customers):
- Assist with merchandising cosmetic products and maintaining attractive displays.
- Ensure proper pricing and labeling of products.
- Maintain cleanliness and adherence to stock layout principles.
Cash Handling:
- Process purchases and payments accurately, including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons.
- Ensure all line voids and price changes are approved by a supervisor.
- Handle daily takings confidentially, keeping all cash and documentation secure until placed in the drop safe.
General Duties:
- Maintain personal and colleagues’ hygiene and presentation standards.
- Follow Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles and security policies.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s uniform, health, and safety policies.
- Report suspicious behavior and ensure outgoing stock/items are scanned and paid for.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Sound numerical and English communication skills.
Advantageous:
- Proficiency in a third language.
