Available Roles and Key Responsibilities

Each role within the distribution center is essential to our operations, and responsibilities are assigned based on experience and specific skills. Below is an overview of each role’s primary duties:

1. General Worker

  • Stock Management: Responsible for managing overstocked, damaged, and short-dated stock, ensuring it is promptly returned to the distribution center for reallocation.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Help maintain inventory accuracy by assisting with stock organization, checking for damaged goods, and ensuring storage conditions are met.

2. Picker

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick products for store orders based on picking slips, ensuring correct quantities and items.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Verify picked items to maintain order accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

3. Cycle Counter

  • Stock Tracking: Perform routine stock counts to monitor inventory quantities, maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Data Entry: Record counts in the system, identify discrepancies, and assist in cycle audits for inventory accuracy.

4. Forklift Driver

  • Truck Loading/Unloading: Safely load and unload trucks as they arrive, ensuring correct placement and secure stacking of pallets.
  • Warehouse Operations: Move and stack pallets in designated storage areas, helping maintain an organized warehouse layout.

5. Reach Truck Driver

  • Pallet Handling: Operate reach trucks to place pallets on high racks within the warehouse.
  • Warehouse Safety: Adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery and handling stock, minimizing risk and ensuring product safety.

6. Auditor

  • Stock Counting and Inspection: Count stock accurately, inspect for damages, and verify expiration dates.
  • Quality Control: Ensure items meet quality standards before dispatching to stores, verifying product integrity and shelf-life.

7. Combiner

  • Pallet Organization: Combine various products on pallets according to store orders, ensuring items are grouped correctly.
  • Preparation for Dispatch: Secure combined pallets with shrink-wrap, preparing them for safe and efficient delivery to stores.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the General Worker roles at Boxer Superstores, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 or National Certificate.
  • Warehouse Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (your specific role will be determined based on experience level).
  • Forklift or Reach Truck License: Required only for those applying for Forklift Driver or Reach Truck Driver positions.
  • Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in Excel is an advantage.

Availability

  • Flexible Schedule: Willingness to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends (including Sundays), and public holidays as required.
