Hollywoodbets is seeking a Fixed Asset Assistant to join their Cape Town team. This role involves managing the acquisition, tagging, tracking, and verification of fixed assets, as well as maintaining a comprehensive fixed asset register. The position requires extensive travel to ensure effective asset management across multiple branches and regions.
Role Overview
The Fixed Asset Assistant will work closely with the accounting and branch management teams to monitor asset movements, ensure compliance with asset management procedures, and support audits related to fixed assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Management:
- Implement and monitor controls and procedures for accurate asset acquisition and recording.
- Track and manage asset movements between branches and regions.
- Oversee the security and management of assets, ensuring optimal usage and adequate insurance coverage.
- Assign barcodes to fixed assets and update tracking processes across branches.
- Investigate potential asset obsolescence and recommend necessary impairments.
- Inventory and Auditing:
- Conduct monthly physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
- Compare physical inventory with the fixed assets register to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules related to fixed assets and support auditors during inquiries.
- Represent Hollywoodbets in external audits focused on fixed assets.
- Communication and Compliance:
- Collaborate with branch managers and the accounting team to ensure proper asset accounting.
- Educate responsible parties on roles related to asset management within the company.
- Uphold preventive measures to prevent asset theft, loss, or misuse.
- Additional Duties:
- Extensive travel to branches as required.
- Complete ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- License: Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Diploma/degree in Accounting (completed or in progress).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
