Hollywoodbets is looking for a Video Editor to join their dynamic team in Durban. The Video Editor will play a crucial role in shaping creative, broadcast-quality videos that represent Hollywoodbets’ brand and campaigns. This role requires expertise in modern editing techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Role Overview
As a Video Editor, you will work closely with the production team to assemble footage, enhance visual quality, and deliver videos that meet the campaign vision. This includes managing all aspects of post-production, from color grading to special effects and motion graphics.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Production:
- Collaborate with Team Leader/Videographer/Producer to align on the campaign vision.
- Review raw footage and determine the shot list as per project brief.
- Trim and arrange video sequences, ensuring logical flow and high-quality standards.
- Insert dialogue, sound effects, music, graphics, and other elements to enhance the video.
- Editing & Graphics:
- Perform color grading and apply modern editing techniques.
- Create motion graphics (lower thirds, intros, end boards) using Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D.
- Ensure project continuity, safe title/action spaces, and accurate logo/disclaimer placements.
- Assist with camera work and event shoots when needed.
- Post-Production Management:
- Complete rough and final cuts under tight deadlines.
- Ensure videos are optimized for different platforms and outputs.
- Consult with the Director and team for feedback throughout the editing process.
- Ad Hoc Duties:
- Troubleshoot challenges as they arise within projects.
- Support the production team with additional duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 2 years in video editing.
- Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects, and familiarity with 2D/3D motion graphics.
- Portfolio: Completed projects demonstrating film production and storytelling skills.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- Preferred: Diploma in film studies, cinematography, or a related field.
- Bonus: 2-3 years of motion graphics experience.
