Technical support advisor

A Company based in Cape Town is looking for a Technical Support Advisor.
Experience
– 2+ years Solar PV or related electrical background with technical support background
– Good knowledge of local regulations and requirements
– Ability to provide detailed support for commercial storage and grid-tied projects including:
o Three phase inverter connections
o High Voltage battery design
o Calculating storage capacity requirements
o Genset integration
o Grid connection
o Surge protection
o String design
o Module optimisation
o Export limitation
o Monitoring
o PVSyst simulations
– An electrical engineering qualification is preferred
– Demonstrable product specific experience with all or some of the following brands Victron, Voltronic, Pylontech, Solis, Huawei
– Demonstrable project design experience with large storage and grid interactive storage systems > 20kVA
– Display a working knowledge of inverter alarm or fault conditions and analysing the cause and assist clients with workable solutions
– Display a working knowledge of inverter communication systems and interfaces
– Have a working knowledge of solving inverter integration in weak grid conditions
– Installation and commissioning experience of residential and commercial scale grid tied systems
– Installation experience with residential and commercial scale battery ESS solutions
– Good understanding of SANS 10142 parts 1 & 2 and NRS097-2-1 grid standards
– Must have a passion for the energy industry
– Must be able to work effectively under pressure
