Dis-Chem Pharmacies at Toti Centre is seeking a motivated Casual Frontshop Assistant to uphold our high merchandising standards while delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale, in line with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neatly organized, and free of expired products.
  • Restock merchandise to maximize sales opportunities and assist with stock control.
  • Manage out-of-stock queries from customers and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Verify correct pricing, labels, and displays, reporting discrepancies to management.
  • Assist with merchandise handling, ensuring items are carefully managed to prevent losses.
  • Process payments, including cash handling, card transactions, vouchers, and coupons.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns as authorized by the Frontshop Leader.
  • Process loyalty cards and partner rewards, including Discovery Health, Momentum Multiply, and eBucks.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow and adhere to stock rotation procedures.
  • Ensure storeroom organization, neatness, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist with stock loading/unloading and general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean store environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric qualification.
  • 0-6 months of retail work experience.

Advantageous Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in retail.
  • Certification in Retail Business Management.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Knowledge of retail operations and the ability to solve customer queries promptly.
  • Basic numerical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to provide top-notch customer service.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adherence to Dis-Chem’s policies, health, and safety regulations.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays).
  • South African citizenship with a clear criminal record and credit rating.
  • Driver’s license and reliable transport are advantageous.

Remuneration and Benefits:
