Job Description:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking Casual Cashiers for their Jean Avenue store. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a seamless and world-class shopping experience. The cashier will record customer transactions accurately and adhere to company policies to minimize inaccuracies and eliminate fraud risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
• Accurately process sales and customer transactions using the Dis-Chem operating system.
• Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures for cash handling, sales, and returns.
• Be aware of and promote current sales and promotions, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Manage cash flow and ensure the security of all cash transactions and sensitive information.
• Process various payment methods including bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty programs like Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, and eBucks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the till area, following Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric.
• Experience: At least 6 months of experience in cashier/till operations.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong numerical skills, excellent English communication (written and oral), and basic customer service knowledge.
• Competencies: Attention to detail, emotional intelligence, social awareness, problem-solving, time management, and accountability.

Advantageous Skills:

• Proficiency in a third language.
• Knowledge of cash register operations and sales processing.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Reliable transport or residence near the store.
• South African citizenship with clear credit and criminal records.
