Occupational Health and Safety Officer Job Opportunity
Location: Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria (Head Office)
The organization is seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Officer for the Human Capital Management Department at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria. This role is crucial in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health standards, while also contributing to effective human resource management.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) required. A Degree in Health and Safety Management is advantageous.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in OHS.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in information sharing.
- People management and negotiation skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Financial management expertise.
- Conflict management capabilities.
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in report writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement incident reporting systems and procedures to enhance workplace safety.
- Establish monitoring and control systems for OHS implementation.
- Coordinate audits, inspections, and surveillance according to corporate OHS policies.
- Compile periodic reports and statistical information.
- Conduct incident statistical analysis to evaluate trends and implement preventative measures.
- Offer expert advice and consultation on OHS matters to various departments.
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and professional bodies to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate Malaria Control spraying activities with government officials in affected SANParks regions.
Salary Range:
R354,947.02 – R579,755.23 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
