Purpose of the Job:
The Paralegal (High Court) is responsible for providing general management, administrative, and technical legal support to attorneys.
Key Performance Areas:
1. General Management and Support to Attorneys:
- Assist attorneys with research.
- Search and verify public records.
- Support in interviewing clients and witnesses.
- Collect, retrieve, and analyze information relevant to litigation cases.
- Assist in trial preparation and general trial support.
- Analyze and research information for reporting purposes.
2. Document Management:
- Assist in preparing legal documents, arguments, and briefs.
- Summarize depositions and other legal documents.
- Draft discovery documents and prepare pleadings.
- Organize and manage cases and maintain updated file registers.
3. Reporting:
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of regulation reports.
- Develop functional reporting systems for management, project, or performance reporting.
- Perform periodic and regular reporting submissions to update and inform management decisions.
4. Stakeholder Management:
- Foster proactive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Respond to inquiries and information requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring timely invoicing and payment for procured items.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.
- 3 years of relevant experience in a legal environment.
Technical and Behavioural Competencies:
- Legislation and regulatory knowledge.

- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) knowledge.
- Drafting, negotiation, and claims litigation skills.
- Knowledge of MVA law and legislation.
