Job Overview:

The Lodge Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of the lodge, including guest relations, staff management, and training. The role ensures that MORE Family Collection (MFC) property standards are upheld, maintaining a high-quality guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Lodge Management:

  • Oversee property operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Maintain the goodwill of the MORE brand and act as an ambassador by hosting site inspections, engaging with the market, and hosting journalists.
  • Ensure departmental management aligns with MORE standards and hospitality trends.
  • Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with Heads of Departments (HODs).
  • Address and resolve guest queries and complaints, using feedback for learning and improvement.
  • Assist with procurement and stay updated on competitor offerings and trends.

Development & Staff Management:

  • Identify and develop staff with potential for higher roles within the property and MFC.
  • Facilitate staff training, both internally and externally, and coordinate cross-property training opportunities.
  • Drive MORE Performance Management and Succession Planning processes.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and follow up on development plans.
  • Participate in operations forums to align management teams and enhance collaboration.

Community:

  • Support community partnerships to promote a strong, positive image of the property among stakeholders.

Requirements – Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in senior hospitality management.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of meeting targets.
  • Knowledge of hospitality products, markets, and international trends.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and guest focus.
  • Ability to work under pressure, proactive, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
