Job Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the overall operation of the maintenance and gardens department, ensuring the interior and exterior of the property are well-maintained. This includes landscaping, swimming pool upkeep, and all facilities and equipment. The role involves managing a team and coordinating repairs, preventative maintenance, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the maintenance and gardens teams.
  • Assess and schedule maintenance work, including emergency repairs.
  • Oversee structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain appliances, fire safety equipment, water systems, and heating/air conditioning units.
  • Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections.
  • Oversee remodelling projects and capital expenditure needs.
  • Manage repair and maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain spares and consumable inventories, recommending purchases as needed.
  • Assist with procurement for maintenance needs in line with MORE’s standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of carpentry, building maintenance, mechanical/electrical systems, plumbing, air conditioning, and water systems.
  • Experience with appliances, power tools, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Leadership experience within a maintenance team, preferably in hospitality.
  • Knowledge of stock procedures, budgeting, and departmental administration.
  • Ability to develop maintenance schedules and ensure hygiene standards.
