Main Purpose of the Job:
The Catering Manager will be responsible for overseeing all food service-related activities, including managing the daily operations of the kitchen, implementing production processes, controlling food and labor costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts (compulsory).
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience (compulsory).
  • Experience working within budget guidelines to achieve results (compulsory).
  • High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of the catering environment, from fine dining to restaurant dining.
  • Understanding of South African and industry-specific laws.
  • Excellent customer service and management skills.
  • Strong communication and exceptional functions skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and reduce soft costs.
  • Proficient in computer use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the assigned unit.
  • Implement and manage production processes.
  • Control and manage food and labor costs.
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP standards.
