Job Introduction:

G4S has a vacancy for a Vault Officer based in Port Elizabeth, reporting to the Vault Supervisor. The Vault Officer will ensure accurate and timely completion of vault processes according to company policies and procedures. This role requires maintaining security and managing cash consignments, with an emphasis on accuracy and traceability.

Role Responsibilities:

• Execute day-to-day vault operations and ensure optimal efficiency.
• Receive and dispatch cash containers, ensuring secure loading/unloading of CIT and ATM vehicles.
• Handle and distribute moneybags, route keys, and receipts to CIT crews.
• Use the e-Viper system to maintain an audit trail for all cash and containers.
• Cross-train in multiple vault and cash processing center services.
• Control vehicle entry and exit to loading bays.
• Ensure secure storage of all keys and documentation.
• Monitor and report any vault defects to the Vault Controller.
• Maintain a daily security log and ensure internal security checks are performed.
• Ensure that all shifts have proper handovers, and necessary paperwork is completed.
• Monitor branch and vehicle holdings to stay within insurance limits.
• Safeguard cash consignments and deliver them to banks as per company procedures.
• Report discrepancies to the Vault Controller and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Comply with all health and safety policies and participate in safety forums and education programs.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Qualifications: Grade 12 with mathematics or accounting.
• Certification: PSIRA Grade C and CIT required; Firearm competency is advantageous.
• Experience: 1-3 years of vault, cash, or CIT operations preferred.
• Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of banking procedures.
  • Ability to handle large sums of cash.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Physical fitness (able to lift and move containers and trolleys).
  • Strong organizational understanding, adaptability, and teamwork.
  • Customer service-oriented and professional demeanor.
