Description:
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is offering a unique internship opportunity in Nelspruit to gain hands-on experience in various administrative and project management tasks. Interns will be involved in essential functions such as budget coordination, data analysis, and audit preparation, helping them develop core business competencies in a public-sector environment.
Responsibilities:
- Performing general administrative tasks for the unit at entry level.
- Handling correspondence, enquiries, and maintaining records and files for the unit.
- Supporting the coordination of the unit’s budgeting processes.
- Assisting in data collation for monthly and quarterly reporting, and preparation for audits.
- Supporting supervisors and managers with delegated tasks, including preparing meeting agendas and minutes.
- Preparing at least one presentation per quarter or as needed.
- Exposure to different tasks and divisions through rotational planning, with progress reviewed quarterly.
Core Competencies:
During the internship, participants will develop:
- A thorough understanding of CETA’s mandate, its role within the SETA landscape, and public sector governance.
- Knowledge of business administration, project management, and public administration within a regulatory framework.
- Familiarity with laws and policies such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, and Employment Equity.
- Experience in financial reporting and budget processes.
Entry Requirements:
- South African citizen under 35 years old with a valid South African ID.
- Post-matric qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship.
- Must not have previous work experience.
- Submission of a detailed CV, motivation letter, certified copies of ID, and academic qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ND in Business Management or Project Management.
- ND/BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
- ND in Management Assistant or equivalent qualification.
