Description:

Kickstart your career with an internship designed to provide exposure to business administration, project management, and financial reporting within the public sector. This internship focuses on key areas like budget management, data analysis, and corporate governance, ensuring interns gain practical experience in high-demand fields.

Interns will be responsible for:

  • Performing entry-level administrative tasks and assisting with the unit’s daily operations.
  • Managing correspondence, records, and files for the unit.
  • Providing support in coordinating budget planning and financial administration processes.
  • Assisting in data collation for monthly and quarterly reports and preparing for audits.
  • Supporting supervisors and managers in completing delegated tasks, including preparing meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Preparing at least one presentation per quarter and participating in rotational planning to gain exposure to various divisions.

Core Competencies:

Interns will develop skills in:

  • Business administration and project management, two key areas with high earning potential.
  • Hands-on experience in financial reporting, budget coordination, and data analysis.
  • Gaining knowledge of the Skills Development Act, BBBEE, PFMA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding the corporate and public sector governance landscape, particularly within the SETA environment.

Entry Requirements:

  • South African citizen under 35 years of age with a valid South African ID.
  • Post-matric qualification from a recognized higher learning institution.
  • Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship or been previously employed.
  • Submit a detailed CV, motivation letter, certified copies of ID, and academic qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ND in Business Management or Project Management.
  • ND/BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • ND in Management Assistant or an equivalent qualification.
