Description:

As an intern, you will:

  • Execute entry-level administrative tasks to support the unit’s daily operations.
  • Manage correspondence, maintain records, and organize unit files.
  • Assist in coordinating the unit’s budget planning and financial reporting processes.
  • Help with information gathering for audits and support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Collaborate on presentations and perform tasks delegated by supervisors.
  • Participate in a rotational program to gain experience across various divisions within the department.

This internship provides exposure to:

  • Project management and financial analysis, key skills for high-paying job markets.
  • Hands-on experience in budget coordination, data entry, and administrative support.
  • Familiarity with regulatory laws and frameworks such as the Skills Development Act, BBBEE, PFMA, and Employment Equity regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the SETA landscape and its role within public sector governance.

Core Competencies to Develop:

  • Knowledge of CETA’s role as a corporate and public entity and its mandate in the SETA network.
  • Skills in administrative support, budget management, and data analysis.
  • Practical experience with compliance and public sector regulations such as BBBEE, PFMA, and corporate governance policies.

Entry Requirements:

  • South African citizen under 35 years of age with a valid South African ID.
  • Relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • No prior participation in SETA-sponsored internships or previous employment.
  • Submission of a detailed CV and a motivation letter is required for consideration.
  • Certified copies of ID and academic qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ND in Business Management or Project Management.
  • ND/BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • ND in Management Assistant or equivalent qualifications.
