Jumpstart your career with an internship focused on project management, administration, and financial analysis in the public sector. As an intern, you will:

  • Perform administrative tasks that support the unit’s daily operations.
  • Handle correspondence, maintain records, and manage data filing systems.
  • Provide administrative support in the coordination of the unit’s budgeting processes.
  • Assist in gathering information for audits and compiling monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Support financial reporting and assist with data collation for management reviews.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and contribute to creating presentations.
  • Gain exposure through a rotational plan to various functions across departments.

This internship provides valuable experience in:

  • Project management and budget planning, preparing you for leadership roles.
  • Practical exposure to financial analysis, administration, and data entry.
  • Knowledge of key laws and regulations such as the PFMA, BBBEE, Skills Development Act, and tax laws.
  • In-depth understanding of the SETA landscape, focusing on compliance and public sector operations.

Core Competencies to Develop:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of CETA and its mandate within the corporate and public sectors.
  • Skills in administrative support, financial planning, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks such as Employment Equity, Affirmative Action, and corporate governance.

Entry Requirements:

  • South African citizen under 35 years of age with a valid South African ID.
  • Relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • No prior participation in SETA-sponsored internships or previous employment.
  • Submission of a detailed CV and a motivation letter is required for consideration.
  • Certified copies of your ID and academic qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ND in Business Management or Project Management.
  • ND/BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • ND in Management Assistant or equivalent qualifications.
