Job Title: Officer Security

Purpose of the Position:

Assist in managing contract security, ensuring compliance with security standards and mitigating risks. Conduct patrols, handle security incidents, and perform audits and inspections to uphold security management. Act as a first responder to threats, escalating issues to TSAM Security Managers.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. People Management:
    • Assist in overseeing activities of contract security providers.
    • Ensure proper coordination and effectiveness of contract security personnel.
  2. Operational Risk Mitigation:
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of security operations to identify and mitigate risks.
    • Ensure proactive planning and implementation of security actions.
  3. Security Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with PSIRA Act and maintain the highest security standards.
    • Respond to and manage unplanned events such as strikes, VIP protection needs, and external incidents.
  4. Safety Risk Management:
    • Implement and monitor effective emergency procedures.
    • Act as the first responder to security and safety incidents, escalating issues as needed.
  5. Proactive Security Planning:
    • Analyze incidents and statistics to plan proactive security operations.
    • Engage in security patrols, identifying potential threats.
  6. Ad-hoc Responsibilities:
    • Respond to unexpected security requests and incidents, ensuring rapid and effective action.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: NQF 4 Matric
  • Training:
    • Security A Grade qualification for PSIRA compliance.
    • Relevant security training and certifications.
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of experience in police or security, at a supervisory level.
    • Computer literate.
