Job Description:

The Receptionist will be responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience, from check-in to check-out, handling guest accounts, processing transactions, and addressing guest requests. Additional responsibilities include assisting with reservations and managing special requests, all while maintaining professionalism and composure under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Maintain and update guest accounts, processing transactions.
  • Handle guest requests and special needs during their stay.
  • Assist with guest reservations when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality, treating sensitive information with the highest level of diplomacy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Matric certificate and a hospitality qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of receptionist experience within a hotel environment.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office and a reputable PMS (Protel preferred).
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, honesty, and trustworthiness.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to lead by example and remain confidential in sensitive situations.

Additional Information:

  • Candidates must be willing to work shifts.
  • Relocation costs will be at the candidate’s own expense if residing outside the hotel’s location.
