Job Description:
The Receptionist will be responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience, from check-in to check-out, handling guest accounts, processing transactions, and addressing guest requests. Additional responsibilities include assisting with reservations and managing special requests, all while maintaining professionalism and composure under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Maintain and update guest accounts, processing transactions.
- Handle guest requests and special needs during their stay.
- Assist with guest reservations when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality, treating sensitive information with the highest level of diplomacy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Matric certificate and a hospitality qualification or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-2 years of receptionist experience within a hotel environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and a reputable PMS (Protel preferred).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail, honesty, and trustworthiness.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead by example and remain confidential in sensitive situations.
Additional Information:
- Candidates must be willing to work shifts.
- Relocation costs will be at the candidate’s own expense if residing outside the hotel’s location.
