Assistant Store Manager – Mr Price

Job Description:
Are you passionate about store management and sales growth? Join Mr Price as an Assistant Store Manager, where you’ll support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations to meet and exceed store targets, customer service standards, and drive overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Management: Ensure accurate receiving, unpacking, and replenishing of merchandise on the sales floor. Manage stock levels to prevent loss and ensure sufficient stock availability. Oversee stockroom housekeeping, handle write-offs, breakages, recalls, and returns.
  • Sales Growth & Profitability: Analyse sales performance reports and collaborate with management to create operational action plans. Identify new opportunities to boost sales and brand awareness while monitoring store expenditure.
  • Risk Management: Conduct compliance checks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, mitigating risks in the process.
  • Customer Experience Management: Implement and maintain customer experience processes to meet customer service standards and ensure a positive shopping environment.
  • Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop the store team to achieve KPIs. Identify and manage talent development opportunities, focus on succession planning, and manage staff performance in line with company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant store management role.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of sales & service management.
  • Experience in retail trade and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Effective communication skills and knowledge of budgeting.
  • Understanding of brand, customer, and product management.
