Job Description:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring individuals to kickstart their careers in retail management with one of South Africa’s largest supermarket chains. As a Trainee Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in various departments, providing you with insights into store operations and preparing you for a future role as a store manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (certified copy required with application).
  • 2 – 3 years of retail experience (advantageous).
  • Sound numeracy skills and understanding of the retail industry.
  • Must be flexible and willing to be transferred between stores.
  • Valid South African ID (attach copy to application).
  • Valid Driver’s license code 08 (certified copy required).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards on the shop floor and backup areas.
  • Adhere to security and merchandise display standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and manage stock rotation; remove damaged or expired stock.
  • Prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages while ensuring correct pricing and labeling.
  • Complete all administration accurately and on time.
  • Analyze and maintain relevant documentation and take action when necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service by advising on products and attending to their needs.
  • Monitor budgets and make recommendations to optimize profitability.
  • Manage stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts through effective ordering.
  • Lead and motivate employees to maintain standards and ensure departmental success.
