Job Overview:

Unitrans is looking for a dedicated and organized Fleet Controller to join our Petroleum Division, based at Shell Killarney in Milnerton, Western Cape. This role involves overseeing and managing driver activities, ensuring the efficient operation of our fleet, and handling various administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be proactive, reliable, and capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative Management: Handle all administrative tasks related to fleet management, including data capturing and record-keeping.
• Fleet Monitoring: Monitor the progress and utilization of the fleet, tracking trucks to ensure they are operating efficiently and on schedule.
• Driver Supervision: Supervise and control driver activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Customer Support: Address and resolve customer issues, assisting drivers with any challenges they encounter on the road.
• Order Management: Manage and process extra orders, coordinating with the customer to meet their needs.
• Problem-Solving: Communicate any factory or operational problems to the customer and work to resolve them promptly.
• Breakdown Management: Capture and manage information related to vehicle breakdowns, ensuring timely repair and minimal disruption to operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12).
• Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role within a similar environment, particularly in fleet management or logistics.
• Technical Skills: Must be computer literate with strong data capturing abilities.
• Personal Attributes: Reliable, assertive, and capable of taking initiative in challenging situations.
• Flexibility: Must be prepared to work shifts as required by the demands of the job.
