Job Overview:

TWK Agri, a prominent player in the agriculture and timber industries, is seeking an experienced Financial Director to lead the financial operations of our Timber division in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. This critical role requires deep expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and cost control within the timber sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the financial success of our Timber division through meticulous budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide effective leadership and mentorship, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and growth within the team.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Group Finance team to analyze opportunities and acquisitions, contributing to sound decision-making at the EXCO and Senior Management levels.
• Financial Management: Take full control of financial analyses, financial systems, and controls, ensuring the division’s financial health.
• Information Technology: Maintain an effective IT environment to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and oversee financial plans and budgets, establish financial targets, and monitor performance metrics.
• Cost Analysis and Control: Conduct thorough cost analyses to optimize operational expenses and improve profitability.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial statements, reports, and analyses, offering insights into the division’s financial performance and trends.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, maintaining a robust internal control environment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments to streamline financial processes and optimize value chain integration.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA) is preferred.
• A Master’s degree is advantageous.
• 7 – 10 years of proven experience in financial management, preferably within the agriculture or timber industries.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on financial reporting, operating costs, and capital expenditure management.
• Advanced knowledge of financial management, tax laws, and related legislation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Afrikaans and English is preferred.
