Job Description:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Merchandiser for their Gateway store. The role involves ensuring proper execution of Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards and providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months’ retail experience
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• At least 1 year of retail experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Restock merchandise to maximize sales
• Store and pack delivered stock correctly
• Monitor product sell-by dates and ensure stock rotation (FIFO)
• Report low stock, damaged, or expired items to management
• Assist with stocktaking and counting
• Maintain store layout and planograms
• Ensure merchandise displays are well-maintained
• Assist with stock loading and off-loading
• Provide customer assistance and handle queries
• Follow Dis-Chem’s policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations

Competencies:

• Strong command of English
• Presentable and professional demeanor
• Effective communication with customers and staff
• Trustworthy and honest
• Good time management skills

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry
• Ability to analyze reports for ordering and stocktaking

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to work retail hours
• Physically fit to handle heavy boxes and adhere to safety standards
• Reliable transport or close proximity to the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
