Job Purpose:
To support the Store Manager in ensuring efficient store operations and service excellence by driving sales and building customer loyalty. The role aims to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets, giving the brand a competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and maximize sales through promotional activities, cross-selling, up-selling, and superior customer service across the store team.
- Manage store operations including stock management, shrinkage, expenses, general housekeeping, and administration.
- Ensure in-store visual merchandising meets brand standards and enhances the store’s appearance.
- Motivate staff and support the Store Manager in achieving performance goals, managing in their absence.
- Maintain daily work schedules in line with the Group’s labour policy to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Execute customer service initiatives to enhance customer experience, loyalty, and Clubcard participation.
- Complete administrative tasks efficiently, including managing attendance and employee records for HR.
- Foster the brand’s position as the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by embodying company values.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
- Essential: Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (External applicants)
- Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an assistant store management role within retail/FMCG or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
- Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of financial management principles.
- Retail/FMCG background with knowledge of merchandising and promotional strategies.
- Understanding of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management.
- Knowledge of customer service excellence, labour legislation, IR practices, and people management.
- Competency in interviewing, numeracy, planning, problem-solving, and organization.
- Strong customer orientation, good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Contractual Hours: 45 hours, 6 days a week
