Job Description:
Motus Ford Kroonstad is seeking a Sales Manager for Pre-Owned Vehicles to lead and manage the pre-owned vehicle sales team. This role is focused on maximizing sales and profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. The Sales Manager will be responsible for meeting sales targets, managing the sales forecast, and executing the sales process effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maximize Sales & Profitability: Drive sales and profitability by ensuring customer satisfaction and retention, meeting sales forecasts, and developing an effective sales organization.
- Stock Management: Ensure an optimal stock of vehicles is maintained on the premises.
- Cost Control: Manage departmental costs within budget and company-prescribed parameters.
- Sales Process Management: Review pricing policies, discounts, and trade-in deals to maintain dealership profitability.
- Financial Monitoring: Track the financial performance of the sales department on a weekly basis.
- Customer Service: Address customer complaints promptly and ensure vehicles are delivered according to OEM quality and safety standards.
- Staff Management: Establish staffing levels, conduct training, and ensure Sales Executives receive new model launch training.
- Stock Monitoring: Ensure floorplan activities are closely monitored and stock levels are kept within company policies.
- Product Sales: Maximize the sale of back-end products.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of vehicle sales experience within the motor industry, with essential experience in pre-owned vehicle sales.
- At least 3 years in a sales team lead or management role, with experience in guiding and motivating a sales team to achieve business objectives.
- Prior experience in Ford sales or a similar brand is highly desired.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of OEM target management and variable margin programs.
- Knowledge of dealership policies, procedures, and the competitive motor industry.
- Sales compliance management.
- Education:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is required.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (NQF6+) in sales, marketing, or business management is an added advantage.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
- Preference for candidates who speak the language commonly spoken in the area (Afrikaans).
- Proficient in MS Office and dealer lead management systems.

- Communication Skills: Proficiency in English and Afrikaans, with strong written and spoken business communication.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport and manage relationships with OEMs and other stakeholders.
