Job Overview:

Motus Retail is excited to offer multiple Automotive Apprentice positions across our dealer network. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate individuals eager to embark on a career as a Petrol or Diesel Motor Mechanic. Our apprenticeship program provides comprehensive training, hands-on experience, and the chance to work alongside experienced technicians. The goal is to equip you with the skills needed to master the trade and qualify within a maximum of 3 years.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Training: Attend scheduled training courses to acquire the necessary technical knowledge and skills.
  • Hands-On Experience: Assist qualified technicians in vehicle repairs, gaining practical experience and honing your craft.
  • Preparation for Level Tests: Diligently prepare for level tests to ensure you qualify as a motor mechanic within the stipulated time frame.
  • Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, conduct rules, and workplace guidelines to maintain a secure and efficient work environment.
  • Housekeeping: Keep tools and equipment clean and organized, ensuring a tidy and efficient workspace.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Grade 10 with Pure Maths or Technical Maths and Science.
    • Completed N2 or higher with a focus on Motor Theory.
    • NCV Level 4 with Pure Maths.
  • Diesel Apprenticeship Requirement: Must have an N2 with a Diesel Theory qualification to be eligible.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate manufacturer diagnostic equipment and computers to access critical vehicle information.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and motor vehicle fault-finding skills are essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous, accurate, and committed to quality workmanship.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
